CESASS CHAT

CESASS Chat is a discussion forum delivered by interns at the Center for Southeast Asian Social Studies, Universitas Gadjah Mada (CESASS UGM). The forum serves as an open and inclusive space, connecting students, young scholars, and the wider public.

Through CESASS Chat, participants are invited to engage with a wide range of topics, including historical, social, political, economic, cultural, technological, and human rights issues. Each session highlights diverse perspectives and encourages critical reflection on how these issues shape Southeast Asian societies today.

Sessions are typically based on ongoing research, recent publications, or current events, and are followed by interactive discussions that allow participants to actively share questions, responses, and reflections.

Formerly known as SEA Chat, the program has been renamed CESASS Chat to better represent the institutional identity. The session numbering is continued to maintain continuity with the previous SEA Chat.
