CESASS in collaboration with Faculty of Geography UGM organizes German-Southeast Asian ForUm of Urban Experts’ Conference 2023

Center for Southeast Asian Social Studies (CESASS) UGM in collaboration with the Faculty of Geography UGM organized the German-Southeast Asian ForUm of Urban Experts’ Conference on “National Urban Development Strategies for ASEAN Member Countries” on November 26 to December 5, 2023.

The event began with the Overview and Objectives of ForUm delivered by Prof. Frauke Krass, followed by the presentation of the CESASS Profile and Program by Prof. Dr. Rini Rachmawati, S.Si., M.T. as Director of CESASS UGM, and the presentation of the Dean of the Faculty of Geography UGM, Dr. Danang Sri Hadmoko.

The event was officially opened by the Rector of UGM, Prof. Dr. Ova Emilia on November 27, 2023. At this opening ceremony, Prof. Dr. Rini Rachmawati, S.S.i, M.T. delivered a speech as the organizing committee.

The international conference took place at UGM Jakarta Campus and Yello Manggarai Hotel. There were 34 participants from Cambodia, Germany, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam.

It’s related to SDGs 4 (Quality Education), 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) and 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
