Opening session for SEA-Gate Program 2023 for Tamkang University, Taiwan (ROC)

On Monday, the 17th of July, the Center for Southeast Asian Social Studies Universitas Gadjah Mada (CESASS UGM) held opening sessions for the SEA-Gate program of Tamkang University, Taiwan. Prof. Jian Bang-Deng and Dr. Chiu Chun-Ta (teachers) and eight students: Liao Chia-Yu, Chao Wei Chu, Peng Guan Lin, Ciou Shan Rou, Hsieh Ting He, Hsiao Ching An, Wu Yai Ting, and Liu Yu An, participate in the SEA-Gate program at CESASS to learn Southeast Asian studies and  Indonesian culture and language in particular. read more

CESASS UGM Welcomes NCCU Students and Opens SEA-GATE 2023

On Monday (10/07/2023), Center for Southeast Asian Social Studies Universitas Gadjah Mada (CESASS UGM) welcomed 24 students from National Cheng Chi University (NCCU), Taiwan, as well as opened Southeast Asian Culture and Language Training Program (SEA-GATE) 2023.

On behalf of CESASS director Prof. Dr. Rini Rachmawati, S.Si., M.T., Drs. Muhadi Sugiono, M.A. welcomed and officially opened NCCU SEA-GATE Program 2023 (10—24 July 2023). “In Indonesia, you can talk to everyone, they will love it, especially when they meet foreigners who can speak Indonesian. Please use this opportunity to improve your cultural understanding about Indonesia as well as your language skills”, he said. read more

The Southeast Asian Languages ​​Program (SEA Gate) program opening ceremony (13/06/19) was attended by Dr. Hamam Supriyadi, M.A., Asst. Prof. Dr. Pravit Khaemasunun, Asst. Prof. Dr. Ratchaneekorn Sae-Wang, Dr. Pongthep Vorakitpokatorn, and Dr. Veluree Metaveevinij from Thammasat University and Dr.phil. Hermin Indah Wahyuni, Drs. Muhadi Sugiono, M.A., and Dr.phil. Vissia Ita Yulianto from Universitas Gadjah Mada. [SEA Gate 2018] Faculty of Liberal Arts Thammasat University & College of Innovation Thammasat University

On Friday (22/06/18), Faculty of Liberal Arts students from Thammasat University arrived at the Center for Southeast Asian Social Studies (CESASS) of Universitas Gadjah Mada for SEA Gate 2018 program for the next three months. The opening of SEA Gate 2018 program was held at PSSAT UGM Library, opened by Dr.phil. Hermin Indah Wahyuni as the director of PSSAT UGM and Dr. Hamam Supriyadi as lecturer of ASEAN Studies, Thammasat University.

In her speech, Dr.phil. Hermin Indah Wahyuni together with Aditya Indra Nugraha, S.Ant. as SEA Gate 2018 Program Manager, said that the program is expected to further strengthen the relationship between PSSAT UGM and Thammasat University which has been collaborating in two programs: SEA-GATE and Visiting Program. read more

[SEA Gate 2017] Faculty of Liberal Arts at Thammasat University’s Visit and Opening of SEA Gate 2017

Center for Southeast Asian Social Studies hosted a guest presence from the Faculty of Liberal Arts, Thammasat University, Thailand on Monday (10/07/2017). The meeting was held to discuss the cooperation agenda between CESASS and Faculty of Liberal Arts, Thammasat University. This visit also further strengthened the relationship between CESASS and Thammast University which has been collaborating in various programs such as SEA-GATE and Visiting Program.

The visit was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Liberal Arts, Associate Professor Dumrong Adunyarittigun and Associate Professor Penpimol Premaswad as Associate Dean of Administrative Affairs, Jiraporn Phornprapha as Associate Dean for International Affairs, Assistance Professor Adisorn Muakpimai as Head of Department of History, Philosophy, and English Language and Literature, Torpong Jamtawee as Director of Southeast Asian Studies Program, Natthaphon Tripornchaisak as Director of ASEAN-China Program, Hamam Supriyadi as Lecturer of Indonesian Studies Wannee Khumbumrung as Secretary of Faculty of Liberal Arts, and Orawan Changklungmoh as International Affairs Officer. read more
